This release from soul/jazz organist Richard ‘Groove’ Holmes presents the complete original 1964 album A Bowl of Soul (Loma LS5902/Valiant VS114) with additional tracks taken from the same session.
The album features Holmes backed by an orchestra conducted and arranged by musician Onzy Matthews who also worked with Lou Rawls and Ray Charles during the 60s, and with Duke Ellington through the late 60s into the 70s.
