The releases feature studio sessions by the Erich Kleinschuster Sextet with Clifford Jordan, Charles Tolliver, Joe Henderson, Dusko Goykovich, Carmell Jones, Slide Hampton, Art Farmer, Fritz Pauer, Jimmy Woode, Palle Mikkelborg and others, all recorded between 1968 - ‘71. Much of the material in this series of three double LPs is completely unreleased and features compositions that would go on to be recorded for Strata East albums in the following years. Along with titles found on Blue Note LPs such as Joe Henderson’s Inner Urge, Jackie McLean’s Right Now and Dusko Goykovich’s Swinging Macedonia. The six 180g LPs were mastered at Abbey Road Studios via an ’all analogue’ chain using original 15ips mastertapes. Housed in heavy weight tip-on gatefold sleeves featuring unseen session photography, the three volumes are limited to 1,000 copies.
