Cedar Walton was one of the most influential hard bop pianists and became well known as the pianist with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. 
Bassist Ron Carter and drummer Jack De- Johnette both gained fame early in their careers for their as- sociations with two different Miles Davis groups.
 
This jazz album from 1984 was the only recording that these three jazz legends did together and was recorded on December 22-23 in 1983.
