Following the success of ‘In Search Of The Fourth Chord’ album, the band re-recorded one of their biggest singles ever – ‘In The Army Now’ which they now release as a mini-album. The original track is in its 38th anniversary year now we are in 2024, and, upon release in 1986, became one of the biggest-selling records of the ‘80s worldwide. All profits from this updated and lyrically-reworked version of a true fan favourite will be donated equally to the British Forces Foundation and Help For Heroes charities. The 2010 version of ‘In The Army Now’ was released as a single only in the UK but as a goodie to their fans the band finally put together this proper “mini-album”.
With a length of over 40 minutes “In The Army Now (2010)” consists of a perfect mix of old classics and new material: ‘In The Army Now (2010)’ (new song + radio edit), ‘One By One’ (bonus track of the European edition of “In Search Of The Fourth Chord”), “I Ain‘t Wasting My Time” (so far, only released in the UK) and 5 live classic Status Quo songs never released before on an official CD. Recorded at the Vestry Hall of the London College of Music, the track was, once again, produced by Pip Williams. This 2010 recording also features male and female backing singers from the Corps of Army Music. Packaged in a deluxe digi-pak edition, the mini-album was supported by a brand new video of ‘In The Army Now (2010)’ showing the band enjoying a day of music and relaxing with the British soldiers who came back from the tragic war. The enhanced part also features the video of “Beginning Of The End”.
