Swedish indie darlings Shout Out Louds are back with their sixth album, ’House’.
Shout Out Louds about the forthcoming album: “On our last album ‘Ease My Mind’ (2017) we talked about landing strips on the other side of the world. We referred to it as sunset rock. Then came night time. ’House' is the most raw, intimate album we've made since becoming a band over 20 years ago.
“When it came time to record these songs, we took them from our small underground rehearsal space to Ingrid Studio in Stockholm and our longtime friend producer Björn Yttling - who is the master of getting rid of anything unnecessary - in pursuit of the sound of the night.
“We were determined to maintain the raw simplicity we found when writing these songs, that up-close and intimate feeling. Like being at home, safe and warm in a small room with friends. Devoid of multiple layers and illustrious decorations, the songs are what they are - stripped back, honest, and bare. When someone shifts position, you hear it. An exhale? It’s there. Wide-open sounds and an intimately personal perspective meet in this album. And together they create ‘House’.”
‘House’ was recorded in Stockholm during autumn 2020 and produced by Björn Yttling (Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn & John, Franz Ferdinand, Primal Scream). Yttling previously produced Shout Out Louds’ second album, ‘Our Ill Wills’, with indie hits like ‘Tonight I Have To Leave It’ and ‘Impossible’.
Shout Out Louds released their debut album, ‘Howl Howl Gaff Gaff’, in 2004.
The band have toured all around the world since the start. Mainly as headliners but also on support tours with bands like The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Depeche Mode and The Magic Numbers. They have played Coachella Festival twice.
Shout Out Louds have also performed on huge TV shows like the David Letterman and Jay Leno shows.
LP on black 140g vinyl.
