TEXT
Mikey Dread was a Jamaican singer who played an important role in the popularization of the reggae during the 1970s. He began recording in the early '70s and worked together with a lot of different artists from the Reggae scene. As a radio presenter at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation he met Edi Fitzroy and with Dread's assistance he released his first single, "Miss Molly Colly", which was a top ten hit in Jamaica in 1978. Further hits followed and together they toured the United Kingdom, supporting The Clash. The 4th 10 inch in this exclusive Music On Vinyl series features tracks by Mikey Dread (side A) and Edi Fitzroy (Side B), all produced by Mikey Dread himself.
The 10 inch Original General / Queen of Harlesden is exclusively available for Record Store Day 2023 as a limited edition on red, green and gold coloured vinyl. 500 individually numbered copies are available of each colour and are shipped out at random.
