The highly acclaimed NYC duo embodies DIY culture, a lo-fi sound w a distinctly hi-fi, maximalist cultural vision. Genre-transcending music for an overstimulated generation. Infamous for cathartic, erratic performances, MG has a rabid following thru sonic maximalism & anime/B-horror visual flair.

Anthemic & fast-paced, the new studio album MG Ultra is Machine Girl’s heaviest music to date & also offers a boiling-the-frog intro to MG for new fans. MG lore juxtaposes whether the picture painted is that of reality, a fantastical escape, or a jarring future. Infamous for cathartic, unpredictable performances & genre-agnostic catalog, Machine Girl's vitriolic, organic following has developed through sonic maximalism & anime/B-horror visual flair. Available on CD and Vinyl.

Artist Bio
Equally apocalyptic and ecstatic, the music produced by Machine Girl is an explosive, cathartic blend of footwork, jungle, digital hardcore, and rave. Debut full-length WLFGRL became a major success online following its 2014 release, introducing breakcore and jungle to a generation of young listeners and influencing numerous producers. The duo shifted to a more punk-inspired sound with 2017's …Because I'm Young Arrogant and Hate Everything You Stand For, and founder Matt Stephenson teamed up with Kill Altersto form the duo Prolaps. Machine Girl released their first video game soundtrack, Neon White, in 2022.

Based in Long Island at the time, Matt Stephenson created Machine Girl in 2012. The project debuted with the track "Gravity Girl" and the self-released 2013 EPs 13th Hour and Electronic Gimp Music, which were followed by several releases on London-based Dred Collective, including the 2014 full-length WLFGRL. The album's remix EPs featured mixes by a variety of footwork, jungle, and breakcore producers, ranging from DJ Earl of Chicago's Teklife collective to Detroit's Sinistarr. Second full-length Gemini was released by Orange Milk in 2015, receiving much acclaim from several music websites. Machine Girl toured across the United States extensively, often with drummer Sean Kelly. A split cassette with rhythmic noise artist Five Star Hotel appeared on Visual Disturbances/Emergency Tapes in 2016 as the two acts toured together.

Machine Girl returned to Orange Milk with 2017's …Because I'm Young Arrogant and Hate Everything You Stand For, the project's most vocal-heavy, punk-influenced release to date. Follow-up The Ugly Art appeared on Kitty on Fire Records in 2018. MG Demo Disc and U-Void Synthesizer both appeared in 2020. Prolaps, Stephenson's duo with Bonnie Baxter Kill Alters, released its debut album, Pure Mud, Vol. 7, on Hausu Mountain. The duo then released a series of 120-minute mixes of all-new material, Ultra Cycle Pts. 1-4, on the first day of each season in 2021. Machine Girl's soundtrack to the game Neon White was released in two parts in 2022.
