It follow's last year's underground hit EP 'Idol Eyes', which saw strong support from DJs across BBC 6 Music - including Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, Nemone, Stuart Maconie and Tom Ravenscroft - as well as Amazing Radio, Bandcamp Weekly, KCRW, Radio X, Soho Radio and Worldwide FM. The original 500 vinyl copies of the EP have changed hands for £75 on Discogs, while the title track has upwards of two million streams.

Having produced for the likes of BTS, Jorja Smith and Maverick Sabre in his South London studio; Common Saints is Charlie J Perry's personal project, inspired by warm '70s production, crafted arrangements and natural grooves. 'Starchild' further explores these areas through fusions of psychedelic soul & funk and Balearic tendencies, all tended by memorable songwriting and production nous.

"Starchild is kinda a letter to younger generations" explains Charlie. "Are we hardwired to be programmed? Like, is change possible? I've lived with that track for a while now and I always go back to it. It came very naturally, and to this day I get new meanings for it almost every time I listen to it."
