Taking the concept of island boogie to a blissed-out, peak ideal, "1983" answers the record label question with a resounding 'yes' - this is as Balearic as it gets. Shaking up the sundown sweetness of the original, Ron Basejam is on hand deliver a remix that should get plenty of dancefloors working hard. It's still steeped in vintage sounds, but Basejam's version piles on the funk and rides a fierce disco beat to ensure the record lands in legions of record bags, as it quite rightly should.
