In February 2020, the Axel Fischbacher Trio got together for two days in the studio and recorded 'Bebop Sketches'

Bound to no specific purpose, the musicians (Axel Fischbacher - guitar, Nico Brandenburg - bass, Tim Dudek - drums) just jammed away and the recording went along with it. But it was this light approach that resulted in something very special. Focussed solely on the music and under no pressure, every single bar of the recording demonstrates just how much joy and liveliness were present on those days. The album includes improvisations based mostly on well known jazz repertoire, fantastic compositions familiar to every jazz musician as well as many non-jazzers. As Dizzy Gillespie coined it: "As a musician you have to keep one foot back in the past and have one foot forward into the future!"
